hola!

I am Pamela Cando, a proud Ecuadorian bilingual registered dietitian based in New York. I am a vegetable enthusiast, cheese fanatic, and coffee drinker. I love pickling my vegetables, trying new foods, and eating Ecuadorian foods. One of my favorite Ecuadorian foods is shrimp ceviche (Ecuadorian style).

I do love food and I am passionate about helping my clients enjoy food without following rigid diet rules, improve physical health and embrace overall wellbeing.

I specialize in helping adults recently diagnosed with prediabetes or diabetes enjoy foods with confidence and without fear.

Experience and education

Pamela Cando is a registered dietitian-nutritionist (RDN) and a New York State certified dietitian-nutritionist (CDN). She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science and a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from Hunter College School of Public Health. Pamela completed her dietetic internship at Hunter College where she went on to work in outpatient counseling as a clinical dietitian for Flushing Hospital.

While working in an outpatient clinic, Pamela learned how trendy and rigid diets can lead to an overwhelming obsession with “good foods” and weight change. These experiences led her to adopt a weight-neutral approach in her own practice. Through bilingual virtual nutrition counseling, she helps clients improve overall wellness by trusting themselves around food and most of all enjoying eating food without fear and confusion.
